How Does Extra Body Fat Lead To Disaster?

The Pathway to Health and Healing.It is now a new decade and although there have been many medical breakthroughs obesity in the United States continues to rise.  Why?  We've been told by the media we are fat because we eat too much fat and carbohydrates.  Low carbs and no fat diets were the fad of the 90's and 00's.  Eating more protein and less or no carbs and fats were supposed to make the population thin so we all should have physiques of Greek Gods and Goddesses.  A simple scan of people during our day or a glance in a mirror will confirm that fad diets don't work.

Dr. Gerald Reaven, M.D. published "Syndrome X, The Silent Killer' in 2000 where he hypothesized that Syndrome X could possibly be the cause of heart disease, diabetes and cancer which accounts for 2/3 of all deaths in the United States.  Syndrome X is defined as chronic decades-old consumption of processed high-carb foods which result in less cellular reactivity to insulin.  This insulin resistance leads to increased levels of triglycerides in the blood, high insulin levels, low HDL's (good) cholesterol, high VLDL's (bad) cholesterol, increased blood clots (i.e. Stroke), high blood pressure and more.  The SAD (Standard American Diet) is full of Toxic Carbs (bread, pasta, pastries, potatoes, rice, crackers, starches, processed foods and anything in a box, can or bag).  These have little to no nutritional value known as empty calories which result in continued hunger after a SAD meal.

There are between 60 and 70 million diagnosed Americans with Syndrome X caused by eating too many carbohydrates resulting in symptoms that must be treated with powerfully dangerous drugs.  With proper dietary changes most problems simply disappear alleviating the need for drugs and surgery.

The human body only requires 130 grams of good carbohydrates per day.  There is a difference between good carbs and bad carbs.  Carbohydrates, when broken down, produce sugar for cell fuel to support bodily functions.  The brain and nervous system are highly dependent on glucose (sugar).

Toxic carbs are overly processed and break down quickly creating 'high blood sugar'.  This creates a very detrimental environment in the body so insulin is released by the pancreas to stimulate increase cell absorption of sugar.  This is a normal metabolic reaction; however, every time large amounts of toxic carbs are ingested the body's emergency procedure is equivalent to calling HAZMED treating the excess sugar as a toxic spill.

Simply, when the body digests carbs they are broken down in the small intestine and deposited into the blood.  The pancreas senses increase blood sugar and releases insulin which is much like a chemical key to a lock.  All cells have numerous insulin locks that open sugar doors located on the cell surface.  Once the key is inserted into a lock a door opens and a molecule of sugar is received by the cell.  However, if the cell has an overstock of sugar it has the capability of removing locks from its surface and therefore stopping doors from opening to allow sugar in.  The brain continuously monitors this progress.

When more cells remove locks higher amounts of sugar stay in the circulating blood.  This increases risk of systemic damage so the brain, orders the pancreas to produce more insulin (keys) to decrease blood sugar.  Continued toxic carb ingestion results in more locks being removed.  Eventually the pancreas must produce keys nonstop to no avail of removing sugar from the blood since most cells have removed their locks.  This is known as 'Insulin Resistance' and when this happens a person will be diagnosed with Type II Diabetes aka Non-Insulin Dependent Mellitus (NIDDM).

When the body has more blood sugar than the cells require this results in damage to small arteries that supply the eye, kidney, and nerves; furthermore, the liver will go into metabolic overdrive producing fat molecules from the excess blood sugar to be transferred to fat cells for storage.  Increased blood sugar = increased body fat = increased potential of heart disease, diabetes and cancer.  This spells DISASTER!

"Don't Eat Fat!" has been a media mantra for years however, good dietary fat does not make us fat unless we overeat it.  Most ready made diet meals are full of sugar (bad carbs) and sodium with very little fat.  Every cell surface is a phospholipid bilayer (lipid = FAT).  If we are not eating dietary fat we are in affect preventing our body from producing new cells to take over the work of old and dying cells.

Ready made diet meals increase your blood sugar and ultimately create fat.  Why?  Because the sugar frequently used is processed corn known as High Fructose Corn Syrup, which the body reacts to in a completely different way than table sugar.  If you must use sugar always use regular table sugar and stay away from the chemical yellow, blue or pink packets.  Poisoning and killing the nervous system is the ultimate result of these manmade toxic chemicals.  Excellent rule of thumb, anything created by man in a chemical lab to be ingested as food is detrimental to the health of your body.

To produce normal blood sugar simply decrease or eliminate toxic carbs and increase all fresh whole foods like vegetables, fruits, eggs, real cheese, real butter, flax, seeds, nuts and more.  Remember the extra fat is not due to eating fat it is due to eating the enormous amount of processed sugar and toxic carbs from the bagged, boxed and canned food which also contains bactericides, fungicides and insecticides.  Yum.

Insulin resistance dictates you EXERCISE in order for the body to better assimilate and use the food you ingest.  Simply walk at a brisk pace for at least half an hour three times a week.  This encourages cells to increase the number of insulin keys on their surface due to higher cellular sugar demand.  Reduce or completely remove toxic carbs.  Increase all good foods I mentioned above along with increasing your water intake to half your body weight in ounces per day.  This will also encourage your body's natural ability to flush stored toxins creating a healthy and vibrant body.
